Police in Burlington are searching for a suspect following a fatal shooting at a gas station Friday.
The shooting happened just before 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Burlington Boulevard — about 0.3 miles south of Burlington-Edison High School.
Police identified the suspect as a 19-year-old Christian Flores of Sedro Woolley.
“If you see Flores or have information as to his whereabouts, do not approach and please call 911. Flores is believed to be armed and dangerous,” a spokesperson for the police department wrote in a news release.
Both the high school, and Westview Elementary School, were placed on a modified lockdown during the initial investigation.
The lockdown was lifted at 3:20 p.m. and buses began running on a regular schedule at 3:30 p.m.
Officers who arrived at the scene said they found a 23-year-old man with apparent gun shot wounds in a vehicle. Police said the man was treated at the scene, but later died at the scene.
The suspect in the shooting was aided in fleeing the scene and police said he remains at large. Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
