Shorecrest High School is in a precautionary lockdown, while police investigate a pair of students who brought ammunition to school Monday.
No weapons has been found as of yet, and the students have not made any known threats. As a precaution, two explosive detection dogs are doing a sweep of the school.
Law enforcement is asking that everyone avoid the school for the time being. Shorecrest’s lockdown entails the locking of all windows and classroom doors while students remain in classrooms. No one is permitted to enter or leave the school at this time.
Initially, neighboring Kellogg Middle School was on lockout, with all exterior doors secured, no one moving in or out, but “normal operations and learning continued within the school.” That lockout has since been lifted, while Shorecrest’s lockdown remains in place.
Shoreline Police have been on both campuses investigating.
This is a developing story — stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
